Profession
Performance Analyst
Data that transforms athletes into champions.
A sports performance analyst turns training and game data into decisions that help athletes and teams improve. A normal week includes tagging video of matches, tracking player movement from GPS vests and tracking systems, building reports on tactics and workload, and meeting with coaches to answer a specific question: why are we giving up chances on the left side, or is this player ready to return from injury? Before a game you prepare scouting packages on opponents. After it, you break down what worked. Much of the job is making complicated numbers clear enough that a coach can use them in two minutes.
