Real Estate Appraiser

A property appraiser answers one question: what is this property worth on the open market? On a typical day you visit homes, condos, small commercial buildings, or land, walking the site with a notepad, a camera, and a measuring tool. You note the size, layout, condition, upgrades, and anything that could help or hurt value, such as a dated roof, a finished basement, or a busy road next door. Back at your desk you pull records of recent nearby sales, compare them with the property in front of you, adjust for differences, and write up a report that explains how you reached your opinion of value. Your clients are usually lenders, homeowners, attorneys, and agencies.
