Profession
Agricultural Data Analyst
Big data in the field
You turn data from farms into insights that help grow more food with less waste. Day to day you collect and analyze information from sensors, satellites, weather stations, and machinery, looking for patterns in yields, soil, and climate. You build dashboards and reports that tell farmers and agricultural companies where to plant, when to irrigate, and how to boost productivity. Much of your work is at a computer with data tools and mapping software, but you also collaborate with agronomists and field teams who put your findings into practice.
