Profession
Web Performance Engineer
Makes websites load in milliseconds.
A web performance engineer makes websites and web applications fast, smooth, and reliable. When pages load slowly or feel sluggish, people leave, so your job is to find out why and fix it. You measure how real users experience a site, track metrics such as how quickly content appears and how soon a page responds to input, and dig into the causes: oversized images, heavy JavaScript, slow servers, poor caching, or inefficient rendering. Then you work with front-end and back-end developers to make changes, and set up monitoring so that slowdowns get caught before customers notice.
