Profession
Micro-frontends Engineer
Scaling large frontends with team autonomy
A micro-frontends engineer designs web applications that are split into smaller pieces, each owned and released by a different team. Your days include defining how those pieces fit together, setting up tools like Module Federation, agreeing on shared design systems and standards, reviewing code, and fixing problems that appear when separate parts of an interface interact. You collaborate with frontend developers, designers, backend engineers, and product managers, and you help teams move quickly without breaking each other's work. You also act as a translator between product goals and technical choices, which makes communication a core skill.
