Profession
Threat Intelligence Analyst
Knowing your opponents to defend yourself
A threat intelligence analyst studies the people and groups who attack computer systems so that defenders can prepare. You collect information from public sources, security tools, and shared reports, then analyze how attackers operate, which tools and techniques they use, and which organizations they target. You turn that into clear briefings and alerts for security teams and leaders, and help adjust defenses. You work closely with security operations, incident response, and risk teams, and you often write reports as much as you investigate.
