Profession
Forensic Biologist
Science that helps solve crimes
As a forensic biologist, you use biological science to help solve crimes. You analyze evidence like blood, hair, saliva, and other body fluids, and you work with DNA to identify people or link them to a scene. Some forensic biologists also study insects or toxins to help determine how and when something happened. Most of your work takes place in a laboratory, where you carefully test samples, follow strict procedures to keep evidence uncontaminated, and document everything. You may also visit crime scenes and later explain your findings in court to judges and juries.
