Profession
Conservation Biologist
It saves species and ecosystems.
As a conservation biologist, you work to protect endangered species and the natural habitats they depend on. You study how ecosystems function, why certain plants and animals are disappearing, and what can be done to save them. Day to day your work splits between the field and the desk: you might track wildlife, collect samples, count populations, and set up camera traps outdoors, then analyze data, write reports, and propose conservation plans indoors. You often collaborate with government agencies, nonprofits, landowners, and other scientists, and part of the job is communicating your findings so that real decisions get made to protect nature.
