Profession
Labor Lawyer
I manage labor relations fairly.
A labor lawyer represents workers, unions, or employers in disputes about work. Your day could include interviewing a client who believes they were fired unfairly, researching federal and state employment laws, filing a complaint with an agency, negotiating a settlement, preparing for a hearing, or reviewing a union contract. Some lawyers focus on employees and unions, others on management, and some do both across their careers. Much of the work is writing, negotiation, and explaining complicated rights to people under stress.
