Profession
Business Lawyer
I protect companies with legal intelligence.
As a business lawyer, you advise companies on the legal side of running and growing a business. You help with contracts, mergers and acquisitions, regulations, and the many decisions where the law and business meet. Day to day you review and draft agreements, research laws that affect your clients, guide leaders through deals and compliance questions, and work to prevent legal problems before they start. Much of your work is proactive and advisory rather than fighting in court, so you spend time reading, writing, negotiating, and counseling. Clients rely on you to protect their interests and to explain complex rules in practical terms.
