Profession
Pediatrician
Caring for the beginning of every life.
A pediatrician is a physician who looks after the health of children from birth through young adulthood. Most days are full of well-child visits, vaccinations, growth and development checks, and treating the usual illnesses of childhood, such as ear infections, asthma, and rashes. You listen closely to parents, because worried caregivers often give the first clues, and you explain things in simple language to kids who are nervous about a shot. You also help families with sleep, feeding, behavior, and school concerns, and you refer children to specialists when needed.
