Radiologist
Images that reveal what the eyes cannot see.
A radiologist is a physician who reads medical images, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear imaging, to help diagnose and guide treatment of disease and injury. You review studies, compare them with earlier images, dictate detailed reports, and talk with referring doctors about what you found. Many radiologists also perform image-guided procedures, such as biopsies or catheter treatments. You spend much of your day in a reading room at a workstation, in hospitals, imaging centers, or remotely, collaborating with technologists, surgeons, and oncologists.
