Profession
Demand Planning Analyst
Predicting demand to avoid disruptions
As a demand planning analyst, you help a company predict how much of each product it will sell so it can stock the right amount at the right time. Day to day, you study sales history, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams to build forecasts. You use statistical tools and planning software to turn data into predictions, then adjust them as new information comes in. You sit at the center of the supply chain, working with buyers, production teams, and salespeople to avoid both empty shelves and costly excess inventory.
