Profession
Pharmaceutical Regulatory Specialist
Drug registration and approval
A pharmaceutical regulatory affairs specialist is the link between a drug company and the government agencies that approve and oversee its products. In the United States that mostly means the FDA. Your work includes compiling and reviewing the scientific and manufacturing documents needed for approval, writing responses to agency questions, checking that labeling and advertising follow the rules, and tracking changes in regulations. You work with scientists, clinicians, manufacturing teams, and lawyers, and you often act as translator: turning technical data into submissions that meet strict formats and deadlines.
