Mathematics that generates alpha
A quantitative analyst, often called a quant, uses mathematics, statistics, and programming to build models for finance. You may price complex financial instruments, design trading strategies, measure and manage risk, or test how portfolios behave in different market conditions. Your work involves reading research, collecting and cleaning data, writing code to implement and test models, and presenting results to traders, portfolio managers, or risk officers. Most work happens in an office or remotely at banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and trading firms.
