Specialist in Design Sustainability

A sustainable design specialist helps product teams create things that do less harm to the environment. You look at a product's full life, from materials and manufacturing to shipping, use, repair, and disposal, and you suggest choices that reduce waste and emissions. In a typical day you may compare material options, run a life cycle assessment, sketch ideas for products that can be refurbished or recycled, and talk with designers, engineers, and suppliers about trade-offs. You often turn technical findings into simple guidance that others can use.
