Sustainable Architect

A sustainable architect designs buildings that use less energy and water, rely on healthier materials, and fit comfortably into their surroundings. You work with clients, engineers, and builders from the first sketch to the finished project. A typical day might include studying how sunlight moves across a site, using software to model a building's energy use, selecting insulation or windows, drawing plans, and meeting with the team to resolve a conflict between cost and performance. You also visit construction sites to see how the design is being built.
