Profession
Veterinary Radiologist
Diagnostic imaging in animals
A veterinary radiologist is a specialist veterinarian who interprets medical images to help diagnose animals. You read X-rays, ultrasound, CT, and MRI studies sent from clinics and hospitals, write reports, and talk with referring veterinarians about what the images show. Some radiologists perform ultrasounds or guide procedures, and others focus on teaching or reading remotely. Most of your day is spent in a quiet reading room, working through cases, and consulting with surgeons and internal medicine specialists.
