Profession
Design Systems Lead
Creates and maintains the design system.
As a design systems lead, you build and maintain the shared library of components, styles, and guidelines that a company's product teams use. Day to day, you create reusable buttons, colors, typography rules, and design tokens, then document how and when to use them. You work at the intersection of design and engineering, making sure the system stays consistent and up to date as products evolve. You collaborate with designers who use your components and developers who build them into code. Much of your work is about creating order, so that many teams can move fast without reinventing the same pieces.
