Profession
Product Data Scientist
Data that improves the product experience.
A product data scientist uses data and statistics to help a team improve a digital product. In a normal week you might design and analyze A/B tests, build models of user behavior, investigate why a metric changed, and present recommendations to product managers and engineers. You write code to pull and clean data, create visualizations, and explain what the numbers do and do not prove. Work happens mostly at a computer, in close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams. Much of the value comes from careful framing, such as deciding what to measure before running any test.
