Profession
Astrophysicist
Modeling the most extreme phenomena in the universe.
As an Astrophysicist, you use the laws of physics to explain the most extreme things in the universe: black holes, exploding stars, colliding galaxies, and the origins of the cosmos itself. Your days are filled with math, coding, and modeling. You build computer simulations of physical processes, analyze huge datasets from telescopes and detectors, and compare theory against observation to see what holds up. You write papers, collaborate with scientists around the world, and present your work at conferences. It is deeply intellectual work where a single question can occupy you for years, and where progress often comes from careful, incremental insight.
