Profession
Social Security Lawyer
It guarantees social security rights.
A Social Security lawyer helps people apply for and keep government benefits, most often disability benefits, and sometimes retirement, survivor, or supplemental income benefits. You meet with clients, collect medical records and work history, and explain how the process works. You prepare appeals when claims are denied, write legal arguments, and represent clients at hearings before administrative law judges, where you question witnesses and present evidence. Much of the day is spent reading records, writing, talking with clients who are often in difficult situations, and managing many cases at once.
