Profession
Neonatal Nurse
Takes care of premature babies.
A neonatal nurse cares for newborns who arrive too early, too small, or too sick to go home with their parents right away. Most of your shift happens in a neonatal intensive care unit, where you monitor heart rate and breathing, adjust oxygen support, give medications in tiny doses, manage feeding, and keep the baby warm and calm. You work side by side with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, and you spend a lot of time teaching and reassuring anxious parents.
