Profession
FP&A Analyst
Financial planning that anticipates the future.
An FP&A analyst, short for financial planning and analysis, helps a company understand where its money is going and where it should go next. You build budgets and forecasts, track actual results against the plan, and explain differences to managers who need to make decisions. Much of your day is spent in spreadsheets and financial software, pulling data from different teams, building models, and preparing reports and presentations. You meet with department leaders to ask questions, test assumptions, and turn numbers into a clear story.
