Profession
Automation Engineer
Machines that work on their own.
As an Automation Engineer, you design the systems that let machines run on their own. In factories and industrial settings, you program the controllers, robots, and software that keep production lines moving with speed, precision, and safety. Your days mix hands-on and technical work: programming PLCs and control systems, testing and troubleshooting equipment on the floor, designing how a process should flow, and improving systems that are already running. When a line goes down, you are often the one diagnosing the problem. You bridge the worlds of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to make complex processes work reliably.
