Certifications in event or meeting planning can boost your resume, and a portfolio of events you have helped create shows what you can do. Demand comes from event production companies, corporations, nonprofits, venues, and agencies that create experiences for audiences and customers, with opportunities in many cities, especially hubs for business, entertainment, and tourism. You usually start as an assistant or coordinator, learn the ropes, and grow into producing your own events, and later into senior producer or leadership roles running large or high-profile projects.
