As an AI ethics specialist, you help make sure that artificial intelligence is fair, safe, and trustworthy. Day to day, you examine how AI systems are built and used, looking for hidden biases, privacy risks, and ways the technology could harm people or treat groups unfairly. You test models for problems, write guidelines and policies for responsible use, and advise engineers, product teams, and leadership on the ethical questions their AI raises. You keep up with new laws and standards, weigh tricky trade-offs, and push for transparency about how systems make decisions. Your work sits at the meeting point of technology, ethics, law, and human impact. There's no single path in, and that's part of what makes the field interesting. Many specialists have a bachelor's or graduate degree in fields like computer science, philosophy, law, public policy, data science, or the social sciences, and the strongest candidates often blend technical and humanities knowledge. Understanding how machine learning works matters, as does knowledge of ethics, fairness, and emerging regulations.
