As a customer success analyst, you use data to help a company keep its customers happy and loyal. You track health metrics that show how customers are using a product, spot early warning signs that someone might cancel, and give customer success managers the information and tools they need to step in. Day to day, you build dashboards, analyze usage patterns, flag accounts at risk, and set up automations that help the team support customers before problems grow. Most customer success analysts hold a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, data analytics, or a related field, though strong data skills can matter more than the exact major. Community college and online certifications in analytics, spreadsheets, SQL, and customer success platforms help you break in or move up. Employers value comfort with data, clear communication, and an understanding of how software companies keep customers over time. You will find these roles mostly at software and SaaS companies, along with subscription businesses and tech-driven services, and many are remote. Careers often start in an entry-level customer success, support, or analytics role, then specialize in the data side, growing into senior analyst, customer success operations, or broader analytics and revenue roles.
