Corporate Wellness Specialist

As a corporate wellbeing specialist, you help companies take care of their employees' mental and physical health. You design and run programs like stress management workshops, mindfulness sessions, mental health resources, fitness challenges, and support systems aimed at reducing burnout and helping people feel better at work. Day to day, you might survey employees to understand their needs, partner with HR and leadership, bring in outside experts, and measure whether your programs actually help. Backgrounds vary, but many people in this role hold a bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, human resources, or health promotion, and some add a master's. Community college programs in health and wellness can be a starting point. Certifications in areas like health coaching, workplace wellness, or mindfulness facilitation strengthen your resume. Because the field touches mental health, understanding when to refer someone to a licensed professional is an important part of doing the job responsibly. You will find these roles at mid-size and large companies, especially those that see employee wellbeing as tied to performance and retention. Consulting firms, benefits providers, and wellness startups also hire specialists. Careers often start in an HR, health promotion, or program coordinator role, then focus on wellbeing as you build experience, growing toward wellbeing manager or director of employee experience.
